Bob Marley Museum:
Bob Marley Museum is one of a number of landmarks in Kingston. Jamaica's world famous son, singer-songwriter Bob Marley, is responsible for making reggae music globally popular. The well known Rastafarian became a prominent figure when he was 36 years old before his death caused by cancer in 1981.The museum was devoted to his memory.
Blue Mountains:
One cannot really experience Jamaica without visiting the highest point of the island the Blue Mountains. Blue Mountains are the home of Jamaica's famous coffee. The vegetation is beautiful up there and it does get somewhat cooler than in the city. If you move forward along this route, it will take you to Newcastle, a historic fort which is training centre of the Jamaica Defense Force these days. Take a hike through the forest, enjoy the views, or just come for some peace.
The National Art Gallery:
Jamaica's precious art collection is often overlooked by tourists, but is a worth visiting place. It provides a lot of information about Jamaica’s heritage, on Ocean Boulevard this art gallery has a large collection of works of Jamaican artists.
Devon House:
It is no doubt a nice ambience, and a wonderful place to relax. This house was built many years ago by a wealthy Jamaican George Stiebel, who became one of the first black millionaires in the Caribbean on.
Hope Botanical Gardens: A trek across the well-manicured lawns reveals elegant and majestic indigenous and non-indigenous plants and flowers. The garden gets its name from the man Richard Hope who helped capture Jamaica for Great Britain.
Other attractive places include Hope Botanical Gardens, Hope Zoo, Arawak Museum, People's Museum of Craft and Technology, Lime Kay Beach, and Emancipation Park. Kingston is well served by buses, mini buses and taxis, which operate throughout the city with major hubs at Parade, Cross Roads, Half Way Tree and elsewhere. You can use these services or can hire a car on rent to experience these sites.
